Then talk with your guidance counselor about what they think you are the most qualified to tutor. This meeting will have two objectives, (1) to find a focus for your business and (2) to generate word of mouth advertising for your business. After you talk to your guidance counselor they may recommend your services to parents looking for a tutor for their students.
To gain some experience, you may want to volunteer your tutoring services for a semester. During this semester you can learn how to break down a topic, how to work with students and how the tutoring process works. You can then use this experience to get paying jobs during the second part of the school year. You can expect to make between $10 and $20 an hour as a student tutor.
