The first thing that you need to do when determining if you or your child needs a tutoring service to help them overcome their learning challenges is to figure out how extensive the learning problem is. Look at how often the student has to ask questions in class, look at how many times a single process or topic has to be explained, look at how frequently the student seems to feel lost. If there is a chronic problem that is developing then a tutoring service is a great option.
The next thing that you need to do when determining if you or your child needs a tutoring services is to talk with the student about their learning challenges. If they feel that they are falling behind and that they don’t feel like they understand the material that is being presented in class then they may need a tutoring service. On the other hand, if the student feels that they are just having a little problem with a single or isolated issue then they may just need additional study materials or a quick one-on-one session with a peer tutor or the teachers to figure out the topic.
