School is in session!
Now is the time for tutors to gear up for the new school year. algebra online tutoring will need to put together their arsenal of tools, games and reference materials to hit the ground running.
The first item in your algebra tutoring arsenal will be flash cards. These cards can be formula flash cards or problem flash cards. While you can buy these cards in an educational store or from an office supply store, you also have the option to make them yourself.
Next you will want to pick up items to model algebra problems with. Good problem modeling items will be small, colorful and easy to store in a plastic zipper bag. For example, gummy bears, erasers, tokens, poker chips and coins all work well for modeling algebra problems with.
Other supplies that you will want to stock up on include a dry erase board, dry erase markers, a tote basket to hold your supplies, manilla folders, printer labels and other school supplies. You will also want to pick up the latest algebra teaching manuals and text books. Finally, you will want to browse the Internet and print out hard copies of reference guides for algebra students.
After you have all of your supplies you need to organize your office for the new tutoring season. First you will want to set up student files for the new school year. Next you will want to put away your office and school supplies. Finally you will want to set up your computer so you can easily access templates, resources and programs that your students will need during your tutoring sessions.
