Last week I talked about the upcoming testing season for high school students. This week I want to move on to the professional exam known as the CPA exam. This is a multi-day exam that covers several modules that focus on key skills used by CPAs.
The first thing that you need to know about this exam is that each state governs what is covered on their CPA exam and how it is presented to students. However, even though computers have been optional in the past, now many states have transitioned to giving the CPA exam on site provided computers. To pass this exam you will need to devote several months to studying and preparation.
Many CPA candidates take a CPA exam preparation course to help them do well on their exam. However, if you are having a hard time retaining all of the information that you will need for this test then it is a good idea to work with a private tutor in addition to taking a prep course. The tutor will be able to identify why you are having a hard time comprehending, applying or retaining the information and concepts covered in the CPA exam for your state.
Tutoring services are a good option for people of all ages. However, as you age you need to work with online tutoring services or private tutoring services that understand how adults learn. Also, if you are taking a professional exam like the CPA exam, then you need to look for a tutor who has professional training that is related to your professional exam.
