Summer is a great time to develop new skills, especially new language skills. This summer if you are offering Spanish tutoring services or if you are being tutored in Spanish, then consider working with immersion activities. These activities will help the student to pick up accents, vocabulary and conversation skills that are hard to learn during isolated tutoring sessions.
The first immersion exercise that your tutoring services can use to teach Spanish this summer is a Spanish language field trip. Consider going to Hispanic neighborhoods and community centers where the student can hear Spanish being spoken by native speakers of this language. You can also take museum tours and ask for a Spanish language tour guide.
Another immersion activity that language tutoring and tutors can use to help their students develop language skills is to rent or buy popular movies and utilize the Spanish language settings. There are two different settings that you can work with. To start with try the Spanish subtitles. This will provide your students with the opportunity to read Spanish. Next, utilize the Spanish language dubbing setting. This will play the movie in Spanish. You may want to keep the subtitles on at the bottom of the screen to help students understand what is being said. The final option is to turn the sound off and have them read the Spanish subtitles. You can assign parts to each of your students and have fun acting out the movie.

Last week we talked about a couple of reasons for using summer tutoring services. This week I’d like to focus on a couple of new reasons for hiring a tutor for the summer. These reasons include developing a competitive edge and getting a little extra help.
The first reason why you may need a tutor during the summer months is to gain a competitive edge over your peers. If you are going into your Junior year of high school then hiring a math tutoring service can help you perform better on our college entrance exams. This is a great option if you are trying to get into one of the better universities or if you are trying to win scholarships.
Another reason why you may need math tutoring and tutors to help you out during the summer is to help you meet graduation requirements. If you are having a hard time with math and need help to pass a summer school math course, then tutors can help you to pass these courses and gain the math skills needed to graduate from high school. Math tutors can also be used to help you pass advanced math courses or to help you carry a larger course load so that you can graduate early.
Tutors are a valuable resource that a lot of students overlook when they are in school. Tutors can be used to both overcome learning hurdles and to help you excel in school and gain a competitive edge. Are you a student who has used a tutor before? May is nearly over and summer vacation will soon be upon us. If you have a student that needs a little extra help with their school work, then summer is a great time to nip learning problems in the bud and to reinforce what has been learned during the previous school year. Fortunately, tutoring services are great resources for meeting both of these needs.
Home tutoring services can be used for many purposes during the summer months. The first service that they can deliver to your kids is to help reinforce what they have learned during the preceding school year, and help them to retain more of what they learned. This option is perfect for kids with learning disabilities or kids that have a hard time getting up to speed at the beginning of the school year.
Online tutoring is another great resource that you can use during the summer months when school is out. You may even be able to work something out with the school so that they front the bill for the tutoring. If your child has an IEP team then talk to them before the end of the school year to set up tutoring services. This can be a great alternative to summer school.
